SIGMM Sponsored and Co-sponsored EventsACM Multimedia Systems 2010Full paper Deadline: Sept. 15, 2009 Event location: Scottsdale, AZ, USA Over the years, ACM SIG Multimedia has received numerous requests to create a multimedia systems conference, targeted at the systems aspects of handling audio, image, video, and graphics data. The ACM Multimedia Systems conference provides a forum for researchers, engineers, and scientist to present and share their latest research findings in multimedia systems. While research about specific aspects of multimedia systems is regularly published in the various proceedings and transactions of the networking, operating system, real-time system, and database communities, MMSys aims to cut across these domains in the context of multimedia data types. This provides a unique opportunity to view the intersections and interplay of the various approaches and solutions developed across these domians to deal with multimedia data types. Furthermore, MMSys provides an avenue for communicating research that addresses multimedia systems holistically. 8th International Workshop on Network and Systems Support for Games (Netgames 2009)Full paper Deadline: July 31, 2009 Event location: Paris, France The NetGames workshop brings together researchers and developers from academia and industry to present new research in understanding networked games of today and in enabling the next generation of future networked games. Submissions are sought in any area related to networked games. 1st ACM International Workshop on Events in Multimedia (EiMM09)Full paper Deadline: July 5, 2009 Event location: Beijing, China The workshop focuses on how to detect, model, and process domain-level events and applications that make use of domain-level events in the context of multimedia data. We invite original work in the areas of domain event modeling, detection of events from multimedia data, processing of events, organization of multimedia data using events as unifying mechanism, and applications of these techniques. ACM 1st SIGMM International Workshop on Social Media (WSM2009)Full paper Deadline: July 5, 2009 Event location: Beijing, China The emerging applications on social web and social networks have produced a new type of multimedia content, termed as "social media" here as it is created by people using highly accessible and scalable publishing technologies for sharing via the web. This workshop solicits novel contributions on various aspects of social media research. Workshop papers will elaborate related theory, methodology, algorithms and issues associated to social media content creation, manipulation, content analysis, storage, search, learning, and mining. 1st Workshop on Large-Scale Multimedia Retrieval and Mining (LS-MMRM)Full paper Deadline: July 5, 2009 Event location: Beijing, China This workshop aims to bring together researchers and industrial practitioners interested in large-scale multimedia retrieval and mining. The workshop will provide a venue for the participants to explore a variety of aspects and applications on how advanced multimedia analysis techniques can be leveraged to address the challenges in large-scale data collections. 1st International Workshop on Web-Scale Multimedia Corpus (WSMC09)Full paper Deadline: July 5, 2009 Event location: Beijing, China The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers interested in the construction and analysis of Web Scale multimedia datasets and resources. The Workshop will provide a forum to consolidate key factors related to research on very large scale multimedia dataset such as the construction of dataset, creation of ground truth, sharing and extension of such resources in terms of ground truth, features, algorithms and tools etc. ACM International Workshop on Ambient Media Computing: Media Data Integration (MDI 2009)Full paper Deadline: July 5, 2009 Event location: Beijing, China In multimedia computing and management, ambient/ubiquitous/pervasive media integration is attracting a lot of attention. In particular, we are seeing large quantities of media data generated from various sources and presented to users. New emerging applications, such as digital entertainment, gaming, and e-learning, often require multimedia data objects that can be of different modality yet semantically relevant to be integrated in order to meet various requirements and achieve user objectives. While human brains can "integrate" media data objects naturally by fusing and associating them quickly, existing multimedia computing and processing techniques, unfortunately, do not provide adequate support to facilitate ambient media data integration automatically and semi-automatically. This workshop aims at addressing the various issues and challenges in ambient media data integration. |
