MMSys 2012 featured the inclusion of short paper and demo tracks in addition to the full paper track and dataset track. In addition, the conference was colocated with the Mobile Video (MoVid) workshop and it was decided that the pairing of MoVid with MMSys would continue permanently going forward. The 2012 conference included keynotes from Deepak S. Turaga from IBM and Leonidas Kontothanassis from Google.
