Day 1 | 2 | 3

The ACM Multimedia Systems conference provides a forum for researchers, engineers, and scientist to present and share their latest research findings in multimedia systems. While research about specific aspects of multimedia systems is regularly published in the various proceedings and transactions of the networking, operating system, real-time system, and database communities, MMSys aims to cut across these domains in the context of multimedia data types. This provides a unique opportunity to view the intersections and interplay of the various approaches and solutions developed across these domains to deal with multimedia data types. Furthermore, MMSys provides an avenue for communicating research that addresses multimedia systems holistically.

Workshops

We are excited to have NOSSDAV, MoVid, and MMVE as co-located workshops of MMSys 2014.

NOSSDAV 2014

NOSSDAV is a workshop held for the 24th time. It focuses on your hottest work in multimedia systems. NOSSDAV covers emerging research topics, high-risk high-return ideas and proposals, and future research directions in multimedia networking and systems. It encourages active participation and discussions among academic and industry researchers and practitioners. The workshop seeks research papers in all areas of multimedia networking and systems. NOSSDAV will call for papers of up to 6 pages with a deadline in November 2013.

MoVid 2014

The 6th Mobile Video Workshop provides the opportunity to present and discuss recent advances in the broad area of mobile video services. Its goal is to understand of the research and deployment challenges in building the Next Generation Mobile Video services. It addresses in particular novel mobile video applications and architectures, research challenges in developing new techniques for providing rich video experience on wireless mobile devices, new visions and concepts to support high quality video services on heterogeneous mobile devices and network conditions and deployment challenges of new and scalable mobile video services. MoVid will call for papers of up to 6 pages with a deadline in October 2013.

MMVE 2014

The 6th International Workshop on Massively Multiuser Virtual Environments a forum for researchers and practitioners working in the field of massively multiuser virtual environment, and will encourage discussions based on the presented papers to identify current and future research topics. The workshop is particularly interested in raising discussions about the following questions: (i) How is MMVE technology developed for games reused for distributed virtual environment in other domains, such as training? (ii) How do the life-cycles and payment models of games integrated into social networking systems (Facebook etc) influence game development? (iii) How can MMVE technology leverage parallel computing technology, including multi-core (Cell, GPU), tight clustering (transactional memory, distributed shared memory) and distributed systems (P2P, Clouds)? MMVE will call for papers of up to 6 pages with a deadline of November 7, 2013.
