Starting with ACM Multimedia 2011, the conference will have ten areas, instead of the familiar tracks of content, systems, applications and human-centered computing. The introduction of areas allows the community to solicit papers from a wide range of timely multimedia-related topics. For example, this change has allowed us to focus on crosscutting topics, including scalability and mobility, as areas of interest. More

General Submission Guidelines
Submissions to ACM Multimedia 2010 must include new, unpublished, original research. Submissions containing substantially similar material may not be submitted to other venues concurrently with ACM Multimedia 2010. More
Call for Full Papers
Full papers will be presented in the oral sessions of the ACM Multimedia 2010 technical program. The papers should present interesting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas in all areas of multimedia and its applications. More
Call for Short Papers
Short papers will be presented as posters in an interactive setting. Short papers should present interesting and exciting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas that are not quite ready, and preferably include a system demonstration. More
Call for High Risk/High Reward Papers
We seek contributions that call to explore innovative and paradigm shifts in conventional theory and practice of multimedia techniques and applications. We seek to draw attention to methods that differ from the state of art in practice or theory and demonstrate potential for changed ways of thinking. More
Call for Workshop Proposals
ACM Multimedia 2011 Organization Committee invites active members of community to submit workshop proposals. The workshops should be “clearly focused” and facilitating active discussions and constructive interactions on current or emerging topics of interest. More

As in previous years, ACM Multimedia will provide demonstration sessions. Demos are intended as real, practical, and interactive proof of the presenters’ research ideas and scientific or engineering contributions, with the goal of providing multimedia researchers and practitioners with the opportunity to discuss working multimedia systems, applications, prototypes, or proof-of-concepts. The ACM Multimedia conference is the main annual conference of ACM SIGMM.
