Presenter Information

All of the talks were designated by the PC Committee as either Oral or Poster Presentation. The type of talk was stated in the acceptance email sent to you and also can be verified on the CIVR website (http://www.civr2005.org).

CONFERENCE VENUE: LT34, SOC1, Level 3

INSTRUCTIONS FOR "ORAL PRESENTATION":
PRESENTING YOUR PAPER
You should be present in the conference hall in time for your presentation, from where you will be called to the stage by the Session Chair. Your presentation should last around 25 minutes (20 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for question-answering). Please remember to keep an eye on the Session Chair, who will give you a signal when the time is approaching to bring your presentation to a close. The order of the talks is given on the CIVR website.

EQUIPMENT The following equipment will be made available in conference hall: PC and data projector equipped with Windows Office (including Powerpoint), and Adobe Acrobat Reader, and an overhead projector.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR "POSTER PRESENTATION":
  1. There will be 2 Poster Display Sessions in CIVR 2005. These will be held at the foyer outside LT 34 (please refer to map).

  2. Please keep your poster to A1 paper size (594mm by 841mm) or smaller. You may orient it portrait or landscape, it doesn't matter which, as the exhibition panel is square.

  3. An exhibition panel, with adhesive velcro tape, will be provided for you to display your poster. There will also be a small table on which you may place a laptop to give a demo (if you wish). But electrical power outlets will be limited, so it is best to fully charge your batteries. (Note: Singapore's electrical power is 220-240V, 50Hz, and electrical outlets require a 3-pin square plug. See Type G plug here: http://users.pandora.be/worldstandards/electricity.htm#plugs Please bring your own adaptors as we will not be providing them.)

  4. Wireless networking will be available.

  5. If yours is the first Poster Display Session (20 July, 1520 hrs), please set up your poster during lunch time. If yours is the second Poster Display Session (21 July, 1030 hrs), please set up your poster by 0900 hrs.

  6. To avoid confusion, please stick your poster on the panel that bears your Poster ID, Px-x (see Technical Programme).

  7. Just before each Poster Display Session, there will be a Poster Presentation time for you to go on stage in LT 34 to publicize your poster. You should use this time to "advertise" your work and attact people to come see your poster. You may use the projector to show some slides, but please keep to the time limit of 2 minutes per poster (about 2 slides). We will *STRICTLY ENFORCE* this limit, so that everyone has a chance.

  8. Due to the tight schedule of 2 minutes, there will not be enough time for you to setup your laptop. Instead, please upload your slides (PPT or PDF) before hand, latest by 5pm on Tues, July 19. Use this link (www.civr2005.org/subsys/poster/). All slides will then be copied to the computer in LT 34.

  9. At the start of each Poster Presentation, please line up to go on stage according to your Poster ID. The slides you uploaded in the previous step will be projected on the big screen for you.

  10. For questions and special requests, please contact tsim@comp.nus.edu.sg. Most of all, enjoy yourself!
